About Passport Minnesota
What is Passport Minnesota?
Passport Minnesota provides group travel to Minnesota destinations. It is operated by Steve and Dorothy Erban, who have over 20 years of experience in group travel with Creative Charters, Inc.
All travelers receive a Minnesota passport, which they use to collect a special stamp in each city they visit.
How did Passport Minnesota start?
Steve and Dorothy Erban started Creative Charters, Inc. in 1993 when they took two planeloads of Gopher fans on a day trip to watch the Golden Gophers Men's Basketball team play in the NIT championship game at Madison Square Garden. Since then, Creative Charters has specialized in group travel and tours. Every year, Creative Charters organizes a variety of trips to sporting events, including the Kentucky Derby and every Gopher Football away game. As part of these trips, the Erbans try to add on tours to learn about the area they are visiting. The idea for Passport Minnesota came about when they thought they should do the same thing closer to home.
In 2015, Passport Minnesota was started to focus on trips to Minnesota destinations. Its inaugural trip occurred in August of 2015. On this trip, travelers visited multiple attractions in New Ulm, MN and toured the Cambria production facility in Le Sueur, MN.
